Virtual Leadership Summit: Creating Network and Business Resiliency by Design, in the New Reality
This summit will discuss how CSPs can leverage their largest datasets, and the predictive power of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), to design-in greater resilience to their network and business. Black swan events like the current pandemic reinforce the necessity of strong resiliency, and we’ll show examples of how CSPs are combining multiple sources of big data to dynamically assign resources, respond to changes, and handle major network planning and improvement projects like 5G. We will also show how improving the business resilience directly impacts other critical facets of the business, including customer churn, and business assurance.
Agenda:
14:00 - 14:05 | Welcome and Introductions
Aaron Boasman-Patel, VP, AI, Customer Experience & Data, TM Forum
14:05 - 14:20 | The big picture: The state of resiliency and the role of data
- What is the definition and measure of network and business resiliency? What is the state of research in this area? How do black swan events reinforce the need?
- What types of data do CSPs have that give them insight into that resilience?
- Why have scale and performance become the critical bottleneck to improving resilience?
- What role does predictive analytics play, and more specifically what is the business value that AI/ML brings?
- Assessing the resilience of your networks: survey results
Aaron Boasman-Patel, VP, AI, Customer Experience & Data, TM Forum
14:20 - 14:40 | A Voyage of discovery: What is possible with 100x faster data exploration
- What is needed to remove the scale and performance bottlenecks, and design for resiliency?
- What are the data science workflows and ML tools that unlock the value of predictive analytics?
- DEMO: HK Network case
- How do CSPs get started? What does a typical implementation plan look like?
Todd Mostak, CEO, OmniSci
14:40 - 15:00 | Customer Case Study: The keys to a successful data transformation
- What data did you have and where was it? What data did you need to collect and how did you do it? What did you do to make all of the data usable?
- What were the goals of the project? How did you measure success? What personas were targeted to see the value?
- What needed to change? What alternatives did you explore, and why did you choose this model?
- DEMO of the result
- What’s next?
- Q&A
Tom Camp, Principal, Verizon Ventures
15:00 - 15:10 | Demo: 5G Network Optimization
